This year marks the New Mexico
Centennial! How exciting! In celebration of such a historic year I wanted to
bring to life some of my most beautiful and interesting highlights throughout
the state. The words listed above are just a few that describe the different
attributes and characteristics of the Land of Enchantment. Everywhere you go, throughout
the whole state you will find something magical, all you have to do is be NewMexicoTRUE. What is TRUE? What is
true is what is good and pure. New Mexico’s vast land and diverse people are
TRUE! Be a part of the NewMexicoTRUE! I know you will have the time of your
life.
The Native American and Hispanic
Culture are deeply embedded in the ground routes of New Mexico. From the
beautiful turquoise jewelry to the spicy GREEN CHILIE, New
Mexico is painted with vivid colors and beautiful culture. The pueblo style of
homes, buildings and churches makes you really feel the beauty of the culture
all throughout New Mexico.
The sun sets in New Mexico are to
die for. I do not think there is any other place in world where you can see so
many different colored sunsets so clearly. From yellows to reds and
pinks you can imagine all the different
beautiful paintings you see of sunsets in real life in New Mexico. Did you know
that there are seven different types of climate zones across the world? Even
more interesting is that New Mexico has six of the seven zones within the
state. Pretty cool huh?
There are an innumerable amount
of activities or neat places to visit around the state. Some of my favorites
are the Hot Air Balloon Festival held in Albuquerque every year, the Palace of
the Governors in Santa Fe, and the horse races at the Ruidoso Downs. In Albuquerque
you can also visit the world’s longest Aerial tram in the Sandia Mountains. The
view from the tram is beautiful in both the summer and winter. You can see
blankets of glistening white powder snow during the winter months… great for
skiing and snowboarding. Hiking and mountain biking is extremely popular in the
summer months. New Mexico has something outdoors for everyone
There are many different skiing
attractions throughout the state. Angel Fire has great slopes for skiing and
snowboarding along with a very relaxing country club. Ski Apache and the Sierra
Blanca Lodge in Ruidoso are great for getting some good exercise on the slopes!
Toas and Santa Fe are excellent
for shopping! The towns throughout these two cities have fun shops that have
original jewelry, clothes, and home décor that you cannot find anywhere else!
What makes New Mexico unique is
that every aspect of the state is TRUE. It is pure; it is real. New Mexico’s
relaxing atmosphere gives you a feel for the state motto “Crescit Eundo”, it
grows as it goes. You and your family come visit us! I know you will love it!
